From a Distance

From a Distance

Wishful thinking-

It’s what I’m best at
I watch from a distance
I always watch you

It terrifies me to approach you

I’m too weak…
You never turn my way
And I’ll never make you

It terrifies me to lose you

But what can I do?
I’ll watch you slip away
As my heart tries to forget you

Lust

Lust

Walls for no one but us
Dimmed lights, I was too shy
Separate skins and lust
His sultry lips told no lie

Two beds, late night
Our skins craved the friction
As his laid far from mine
Distance of great affliction

I reached out and grabbed his arm
Taking possession of his shell
My cheek laid across the warmth
“Just release me from this hell.”

……………………………………………………………………..

Her eyes fluttered
As she fell asleep
My blood boiled
Every time she breathed

I pushed her away
But I was too weak
I caved against her skin
Before my lips sunk deep

She moaned as her body raged
While mine was covered in sweat
I gripped her arms above her head
To take her all the way, but instead-

……………………………………………………………………..

“Stop,” I breathed
He caged my lips
And claimed me like a beast…

Listen

Listen

Four years old
The little girl watches
The adults fighting
Her voice is too low
They won’t listen…

A knife in hand
The man is cruel
The little girl faces him
To protect the woman
He doesn’t listen…

Innocent eyes watch him
But he doesn’t see
The little girl remains
The knife touches the woman
Blood…
No one listens…
